Hate her or love her, this year has been a pivotal one for Kylie Jenner. As her famous family continued to dominate headlines in 2015, she’s moved very quickly to the front of this highly enterprising pack. If you blinked, you literally would have missed out on purchasing anything from her just-launched cosmetics line, and her social media audience, already in its tens of millions, is growing daily.
To round off their year, Interview magazine chose King Kylie as their cover star, sitting down with her in an interview almost as revealing as the accompanying photo shoot. They describe her as a “sex-doll sanguine” and that certainly seems to have inspired the styling of the editorial. Captured by esteemed fashion photographer Steven Klein, Kylie wears latex lingerie sets, bustiers, and buttless leggings, with exaggerated make-up (even by her standards).
And even though her photos often garner more attention than what she says, there’s a lot to learn in her chat with Interview’s senior editor—she actually hates wearing make-up; she gets really nervous before major events; and she’s not really like the glam persona you see in her Snapchats… but she won’t stop ‘being’ that person because “that’s what people want to see”.
