Weekly updates

After much anticipation and teasing from Sony, the company has finally revealed the Playstation 4 through their presentation at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. Expected to launch in the last quarter of 2013, the PS4 will compete against Microsoft’s newly announced Xbox One and Nintendo’s Wii U.

Featuring an AMD processor to allow game developers ease of video game development, the PS4 includes 8GB of memory, a speedier Blu-Ray drive and dedicated chips for video, audio and background tasks. It also sports a boxy, trapezoid design, separated by a purple line and finished with a half matte, half-glossy surface, the console sits either vertically or horizontally, similar to previous generations of consoles. The console will be released at a starting price of USD$399, and will come with console exclusives games such as Killzone: Shadow Fall and Final Fantasy XV.
