In today’s news that will gear you up for the long weekend – Luca Belgiorno-Nettis, the chairman of both the Sydney Biennale and its major sponsor Transfield Holdings has resigned from his role with the arts event.
Belgiorno-Nettis has been under intense scrutiny when several key artists threatened to pull out of the festival earlier this year when it was revealed that Transfield-Holdings is a contractor for Australia’s detention centre network.
At the risk of jeopardising my esteemed journalistic integrity – IT’S ABOUT FUCKING TIME. Good work everybody.
