A few days ago, Armin van Buuren premiered a remix of the Game of Thrones theme he’d been recently playing at festivals. I tried to just push the knowledge back into the unconscious of my mind and continue living my life unimpeded by the news, but that was before I found out this was an official remix of the anthem. Someone at HBO actually gave the go-ahead for this atrocity to be crafted from bass drops and shit and fear and sadness. Now, I’m legitimately angry at the whole thing. To top it off, it sounds exactly like what you imagined from reading the headline, no challenge, nothing unexpected, just a bad feeling in your ears. This may seem harsh, but just listen to it above so you can see what I mean. The only consolation is that it somehow still isn’t the worst thing to happen to EDM this year.
