Flying Lotus, Thundercat and Shabazz Palaces just formed a band, release first track
Music
If you haven’t directly heard of Thundercat, you probably have heard his production skills if you’re a fan of Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington or even hip-hop’s finest Kendrick Lamar. The LA producer, singer and multi-genre bass guitarist has production credits on three tracks off of To Pimp a Butterfly and although he has a handful of amazing guest appearances his solo work is equally amazing.
The all-round musical wizard graced his Melbourne fans on Thursday night with a full band set ahead of his Laneway performance. With live support from Melbourne producer Silent Jay, jazz/funk Brainfeeder-affiliate melted his patrons minds with his impressive instrumental skills. Check out the stunning photos from the concert in the gallery above.
