Hanging out at Red Bull’s Music Motel

On Saturday night, Red Bull Music Motel graced screens Australia-wide for an innovative live-streamed event, featuring sets from award-winning local artists G Flip, Baker Boy and Tkay Maidza. Elevating a dynamic music experience with state-of-the-art visuals, Red Bull Music Motel invited radio & TV presenter Linda Marigliano and The Inspired Unemployed to hold down the energy between sets, with effervescent hosting duties and a guest appearance from Donny Benet.

North East Arnhem Land’s Baker Boy opened the Red Bull Music Motel live music proceedings with quick-fire rhymes and impeccable dance skills. Supported by his mentor Dallas Woods, Baker Boy performed crowd favourite singles including “Black Magic”“Marruyna” and the ARIA-nominated “Meditijin” with an exclusive Red Bull Music Motel verse from Dallas as well. Bolstered by his troupe of dancers, the Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land brought an unforgettable performance and cemented his legendary status at the Music Motel.

Celebrating her ARIA-nominated Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 2 EP, Tkay Maidza debuted her new stage show since the release of her EP. Hyped by her DJ, Teriyaki Mami and fierce backup dancers, Tkay reminded the nation why she one of Australia’s greatest musical exports, showcasing her impressive back catalogue, from past single “MOB”, to the trap heavy “Awake” and her latest “24k” and even an exclusive performance of upcoming music, showing that there is no slowing down for Australia’s Queen on hip-hop.

Headliner and ARIA-nominated solo artist, G Flip closed out Red Bull Music Motel with her infectiously charismatic presence and high calibre show. Opening with her drum skills on debut single “About You” and slowing it down for the emotionally driven “You and I”, G Flip charmed audiences nationwide from start to finish, ending it all with the 2019 adored single “Drink Too Much”.

Raising the bar for live-streamed performance in 2020, Red Bull Music Motel offered a portal to a one-of-a-kind music getaway, that saw everyone successfully escape the everyday from the comfort of their homes.
