I’ve been hungry for more Ye since he dropped Yeezus last year, but it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer. He had a listening party in Paris recently, where 20 people got to hear a bunch of finished songs for the album.
G.O.O.D. Music‘s Malik Yusef was amongst the 20 people who attended the listening party (and apparently he “moshed with babes”), “This album is different. It’s like a pair of Timberlands; like how Timberlands are not quite leather and not quite suede. It’s not the smooth, slick Chicago music sound we have right now and it’s not the ruggedness of just ‘hip hop, hip hop, hip hop.’ We’re still working like a motherfucker. We’ve been all around the world [recording].”
So far, all we know is that Yeezy has finished 20 tracks for the album, no title or release date has been set yet (though a rough version of a single from the album was leaked in August). He originally wanted a June release date like Yeezus, so he could “kill the summer”, but he has other priorities. Like, you know… being a father.
