In case you missed it, J Dilla’s latest posthumous release was announced recently and it’s none other than the lost 2002 vocal album we’ve all been waiting for. The Diary will be released on April 15 and was initially meant to be J Dilla’s break away from being the behind-the-scenes beatmaker before it was postponed indefinitely. It’s an album 10 years in the making and has taken a lot of groundwork by Dilla’s estate to finally be able to present it to the world as a complete project. The Diary features production and vocal assistance from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Bilal, Pete Rock, Madlib, and heaps more. The first track ‘The Introduction’ was officially, well, introduced to the world via Mass Appeal Records and Rolling Stone. You can check out the lead single below and definitely stay tuned for more on this release in the coming months.
