To celebrate the international release of N.W.A.’s biographical drama Straight Outta Compton, the influential hip-hop group might be planning a European tour, thanks to the film’s distributor Universal.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Universal chief Donna Langley explained that the studio is looking to set up a N.W.A. reunion tour to celebrate the release of the film. The reunion would feature each of the surviving members of the group, with Eminem taking to the stage in place of Eazy-E.
Considering the close relationship between Dr. Dre and Eminem the choice to include him makes obvious sense. Eminem also features on the film’s soundtrack along with Kendrick Lamar, if Universal could get him on board for this tour too it would make it one of the biggest hip-hop shows ever.
No real tour details have been confirmed, Langley told the Hollywood Reporter. “We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules,” she says. “But we think it can create a lot of buzz.”
Straight Outta Comption will hit Australian cinemas on September 3.
