In case you haven’t heard, Pusha T’s debut album My Name Is My Name is just about to drop. In this two-part interview with The Source Pusha continues the dialogue about his musical influences, his famous friends and the work that went into his debut effort. And one thing is certain, everything really is Pusha T – dude is pretty confident and maintains his previous claim that this record will be hip hop album of the year.
“I feel like hip hop got…overtly street conscious and fashion conscious,” he says, when asked about what has influenced hip hop since ’02 and pins Pharrell Williams as the one to set it all off. “I feel like we are all offspring of his brainchild.”
