Watch: trailers for Pusha T’s Darkest Before the Dawn

I Think I'm Beginning To See Why You're Having These Nightmares

With the release of Pusha T’s latest collaboration with Adidas Originals, the King Push EQT Running Guidance ’93 “Black Market” only a few hours away, the G.O.O.D Music president releases a trailer to his upcoming album Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude. The Virginia MC says he usually dislikes videos because “they’re such a task…& you never have enough money to get it done exactly how you like.” King Push will debut the full 20-minute mini-movie, directed by Kid Art, at Art Basel in Miami. The cinematic Jay Z-funded project looks to be quite Christopher Nolan-esque (pass the popcorn & Sour Patch Kids). I can’t wait to see the full footage in a few days. “Most rappers can only give you the soundtrack, I give you the motion picture…”

Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude will include production from Kanye West, Puff Daddy, J Cole, Timbaland, Q-Tip, Baauer, and Nashiem Myrick. In an interview with Noisey the ‘Uncompromised’ coke-flow rapper expressed: “I’ve been recording so much—I didn’t want to break up that body of work,” the 38-year-old said in reference to King Push. “I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren’t usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That’s the music I love, and that’s the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let’s just separate the game.” Expect the album on December 18th.
