Everyone has that one piece of clothing that they have a perhaps irrational attachment for. For me it’s a black leather jacket that fits like a second skin and literally matches everything I wear (okay, except if I’m wearing a leather skirt or brown leather boots, much to my disappointment when I’m trying to run out the house with a hangover, stupid brown leather boots). For most people it’s that one pair of jeans. The kind of denim that fits so well that you’d rather put it on life support than turf it and get a new pair when they’re at their end of days.

Thankfully Levi’s now offers that life support. The Levi’s Tailor Shop has hit Aussie shores and offers denim devotees the ability to customise, personalize, patch or just REPAIR their beloved pair of jeans… or jacket. Anything denim really.

First revealed by Matt Stone, head tailor at Levi’s Haus of Strauss at the recent Splendour in the Grass festival, Matt customised jackets and denim with patches and personalised treatments for acts like Lily Allen, Sky Ferreira and Parquet Courts. But proving you don’t need a recording contract to get the same customized treatment, Levi’s have now set up the Levi’s Tailor Shop in their Melbourne Central store, so us peasants can now enjoy the same services and vintage patch customization. Levi’s will also be launching their tailor shop concept within the Glue store at the new emporium as part of their VIP opening weekend.

For more info on Levi’s Tailor Shop, head on over to their microsite. And take a look at some of the shots of the Melbourne Central space as well as the Splendour setup in the gallery above. The video below will also give you a couple of pointers of what to expect.
