From those standing curbside looking upward, it is well established that Bodega is sewn deep into the fabric of true New England style. A Boston original rising from the humblest of beginnings, the store is a now a thriving hub of knowledge and culture; a steadfast institution primed to re-establish individuality in the consumer.
With several seasons of very progressive development under their belt, the BDGA in-house line is still all about creating a style, not the label itself. They provide a traditional aesthetic; a smart casualness redefined through a sense of what is important now. “Here in New England, we have a very classic style of dress. A lot of our pieces are timeless staples that we style to our own interpretation. Timeless, but super relevant.”
After a brow-raising first round response, the second drop of BDGA’s AW/12 line has just landed, boasting a selection of sharply designed jackets, hoods, buttonups and cut’n’sew tees. Characterized by super-smart hits of suede, embroidered ‘duck hunter’ logos and innovative paneling, the AW/12 line also includes a blast of five panel and snapback hats.
The unifying feature of this line is Bodega’s custom Duck Camo. An original pattern designed in-house specifically for the season, it typifies their philosophy: “we take what is relevant and add our signature Bodega twist to it.” Thread across several pieces in the AW/12 line, the Duck Camo tailors a distinctive edge amidst the onslaught of urban commandos.
The standout piece of outerwear from the AW/12 line is their Sherpa Fleece Jacket. Available in either a Royal Blue or an Olive Green, the reversible design features slick nylon paneling and suede details over a toasty sherpa fleece on one side, and Bodega’s custom Duck camo fleece on the other.
The L/S Oxford Shirts are in definite need of a mention as they’ll be snapped up quick in this second drop. Featuring a mishmash of unique panel structures and customized Bodega hits, they are available in a classy Blue/Tan or Green Check Flannel.
Style-hunters south of the equator should pack a spare rifle from this season, these pieces are already flying out fast… Available through Laced (Brisbane), Up There (Melbourne), Loaded (Auckland) and at the online store here.
