Vans powers up with Nintendo collaboration

All gamers will want to get their hands on these

Posted by

Vans may have had a resurgence in popularity thanks to some dude named Daniel, but they’re about to earn some serious nostalgia points, because their Nintendo collaboration is here and it looks exactly like we’d imagined.

The capsule range of footwear, apparel and accessories comes in both adults and kids sizing, so you can get your matchy-matchy on with Junior. The collection celebrates the 8-bit video games we all loved from the ’80s and early ’90s, including Super Mario Bros., The Legend Of Zelda, Duck Hunt, and Donkey Kong.

There are four Authentic styles to choose from with the first colourway inspired by the Super Mario Bros.’ Mushroom Kingdom. With an  8-bit tie-dye pattern, it is covered in Marios, “power ups”, and the evil Goomba, and the second features Princess Peach waiting to be rescued (of course). The third illustrates Duck Hunt‘s hunting dog and flying duck in combination with a digi-camo backdrop, and the fourth celebrates Donkey Kong with unique floral designs.

The collection also features lace-free, classic slip-on sneakers with graphics and quotes from The Legend of Zelda, whereas the lace-up styles have unique details like Nintendo game logos on the tongue and NES controller lace caplets.

Before you get your hands on a pair (or three), check out the extensive collection in the gallery above and be sure to take a look at the ‘Game Over!’ signage printed underneath each waffle sole.
