I’ve been to my fair share of raves in my short life. They’re always drug riddled, drowned in fluro, filled with friendly people, and usually don slogans such as “drop googs, not bombs”. The best ones are always the underground, illegal ones. They can go for days, or they can go for hours. It all comes down to how quickly the police catch on (or how much they actually even care… go solve some real crimes).
Avid raver Travis Fryer has published a zine, simply called :). It documents photos that he has taken from illegal raves around Melbourne from 2012 to 2013. 52 pages of black-and-white photos that you could swear were coming from the likes of a Harmony Korine film set, you can purchase the zine here for just $7.
You can also catch more of Travis’ photography on his blog.
