I don’t normally get too excited about a pair of chinos but hell, these are the next step up in the pant evolutionary scale. Shortly after copping my pair of Paul DWR pants, I had to hit the road for a frantic week of film work while travelling across New Zealand. During that time, the pants and I seriously bonded. I only swapped them with another pair once during the trip and not because they were getting stinky, but more because psychologically it feels like pants shouldn’t be worn consecutively for more than three days.
They’re an excellent option for environments prone to sporadic weather changes as they breath really well in the heat but are also great in cooler temperatures, not least of all due to their water repellent surface which should be a mandatory feature of all leg coverings. Best of all, a classic, five-pocket silhouette makes these easy to match with other garments.
