Beat master, ridiculous hat wearer and all-round dominator of awards season Pharrell is not done dominating. After performing at the Grammys and taking home three shiny gold gramophones, he will again go for gold – this time in the shape of a man named Oscar.

His hit solo song ‘Happy’, which featured in Despicable Me 2, has been nominated for best original song at the 2014 Academy Awards. To coincide with his nomination he will perform the song, not for 24-hours, but hopefully wearing that ridiculous Vivienne Westwood hat.

Last year Adele performed during the ceremony and then took home the award for best original song, so Pharrell’s chances are high. Plus his competition is U2… so, yeah, that kind of speaks for itself.
